Pump Overhaul

A typical overhaul of a Single Stage Horizontally Split Centrifugal Pump will include:

  1. Complete disassembly of unit
  1. Sandblast the upper and lower casings
  1. Meticulously clean and dimensionally check the bearing housings
  1. Glass bead the impeller
  1. Manufacture and Install a new Stainless Steel Shaft
  1. Manufacture and Install New Bronze Sleeves
  1. Assemble rotor and check for “run-out” at the impeller O.D., the wear rings, the sleeves and at the coupling side
  1. Dynamically balance rotor to operating speed (with the coupling hub installed whenever possible)
  1. Restore wearing ring clearances to original specifications
  1. Retrofit the casing rings with “O”-Rings so as eliminate water recirculation on the outside of the wear rings
  1. Chase all the threaded holes in the casings including the threaded holes for the jacking screws
  1. Ream the positioning pin holes and install new pins
  1. Assemble the pump with new high quality precision bearings, upgraded mechanical seals, properly sized gaskets, nuts, bolts and fittings
  1. Hydro-Test pump to 1-1/2 times the operating pressure
