Type FMB are metallic bellow seals. They have superior sealing properties especially in extremely high temperature applications where ordinary elastomers fail to function. The bellow eliminates the dynamic secondary seal thus making it a more reliable design. Moreover these are inherently pressure balanced seals and can withstand high pressures. The bellow can be made out of AM 350, Hastelloy C or Inconel 718.
